UBC Ponderosa Commons II

A vibrant hub of residential, academic, and commercial activity

UBC Ponderosa

Phase II of Ponderosa Commons introduced 298,100 ft² of residential, retail and commercial space to the UBC campus. This 3-building complex uses sandwiched insulated precast concrete panel cladding and includes an 18 storey tower, and 2 additional buildings of 7 and 8 storeys.

The complex contains 553 student beds, academic facilities & offices and student gathering spaces. In addition, there are classrooms, conference rooms, event space with catering area, two interior courtyards, and offices for UBC’s Department of Education. A tight timeline and managing the logistics of an active campus contribute to the complexity of this project. LEED Gold.
